The company was established in 1879. May 10 was founded by Wilhelm Paff, a plumber who created, produced and sold soldering fluids as part of his craftsman activities. His successor, Hans Eckstaedt, the son of the founder of the company, successfully carried out the development and in 1920 established the internationally protected trademark "Stannol" in the market at the end of the year.
