MINI PC Minis Forum MS-A1-A5870 Ryzen 7 8700G barebone
Minis Forum MS-A1-A5870 is a miniature barebone desktop PC that is not inferior in capabilities to larger units. It features an 8-core, 16-thread AMD Ryzen™ 7 8700G processor with Zen 4 architecture. The unit clocks up to 5.1 GHz and offers integrated AMD Radeon™ 780M graphics. Despite its compact design, it supports up to 4 NVMe SSDs (including U.2), up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM, and offers support for external GPUs via Oculink. There will be plenty of ports at your disposal, including USB4 with up to 40 Gbps, HDMI 2.1, DP 2.0 and 2.5G RJ45 ports with link aggregation support. The installed M.2 2230 module supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, and the whole thing is cooled by a dual fan with 4 heat pipes. Note: the mini PC does not include RAM and SSD.
High performance with AMD Ryzen™ 7 8700G
The computer uses AMD Ryzen™ 7 8700G processor with Zen 4 architecture, made using TSMC's 4-nanometer FinFET technology process. The unit offers 8 cores and 16 threads, with a base clock of 4.2 GHz and a maximum boost to 5.1 GHz. In CPU Performance Score tests, the chip achieves 1823 points in single-threaded operations and 16983 points in multi-threaded tasks. In the 3DMark Time Spy test, on the other hand, the result was 2800 points, outperforming the RTX 1050 Ti card and older generations of Ryzen. The solutions used translate into fast application performance, high performance in computing and stability when working on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Integrated Radeon™ 780M graphics
The integrated AMD Radeon™ 780M chip offers high graphics performance without the need to install a dedicated GPU card. For more demanding users, an external graphics card can be connected thanks to Oculink (PCIe 4.0 x4), allowing you to customize graphics performance for specific applications - from office work to semi-professional tasks like video editing and 3D rendering.
Expansion and configuration options
The MS-A1-A5870 is available in a barebone version - without pre-installed disk and RAM, which provides full configuration freedom. The device supports up to 96 GB of DDR5 memory at 5200 MHz. Up to 4 M.2 NVMe SSD slots are provided for data, of which 2 operate in PCIe 4.0 x4, one in PCIe 3.0 x4, and one in PCIe 4.0 x1. One of the slots allows the installation of U.2 format drives - for example, with a capacity of up to 7.68 TB. Such flexibility allows the computer to be customized for both data-intensive work and server applications. The mini PC is based on the AM5 platform and offers the possibility to replace the processor. This means you don't have to be limited to one CPU model - you can easily upgrade the unit to a newer variant if necessary.
Advanced cooling - quiet and efficient
Despite the small form factor, Minis Forum has taken care of the right thermal conditions for the components. The MS-A1-A5870 uses the Cold Wave cooling system with 2 fans and 4 heat pipes. Efficient heat dissipation from the processor and other components translates into stable operation even under heavy load. Such a system also eliminates the need for the fans to go into high speed frequently, which affects the acoustic comfort of operation.
High availability of ports
The MS-A1-A5870 features a variety of ports, including 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen1, 2x USB 2.0, one USB-C port with USB4 support (up to 40 Gbps), HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0 and audio combo jack. The rear panel also features Oculink for graphics expansion and 2 RJ45 Ethernet ports with 2.5G bandwidth each with link aggregation support, allow for a very fast and stable network connection. The solution used will surely be appreciated by users working with large files, using NAS servers and conducting intensive data exchange over the local network.
Support for multiple screens in high resolution
HDMI 2.1, DP 2.0 and USB4 ports allow connecting up to 3 monitors simultaneously. Support for 8K resolution output makes the device suitable not only for office work, but also for creative environments - for video processing, graphic design or data analysis on multiple screens simultaneously.
