These heat-shrinkable tubes are usually made of special thermoplastic materials that have the property of shrinking at a certain temperature. When the tubing is heated to a critical temperature, it starts to shrink by enveloping the wires. This provides insulation, not only protecting wires from mechanical impact, but also prevents moisture, dust and other substances from entering the wire.

Heat shrink tubing can be used in both indoor and outdoor installations, including electrical wiring, telecommunications, automotive and many other applications. These tubes can also be used to repair the damaged area of the wire insulation.
